What is it?

Wall plank is a thin product, typically made of vinyl or wood that adheres onto the wall for added visual interest. The wall fashion featured in this blog is Vercade. It is made of 100% vinyl, has a closed cell core making it rigid, lightweight, strong, and dimensionally stable. It also has a ceramic bead overlay making it not only easy to maintain, but also waterproof. Tile-look planks are 12”x24” and wood-look planks are 6”x48”, both with a finish thickness of 2.8mm and a total thickness of 4.8mm.

Where can it be installed?

Because you can get matching trim pieces to finish off your area, these planks can be applied on walls, wainscoting, kitchen backsplashes, islands, peninsulas, fireplace surrounds, headboards and nearly anywhere else you can image. The wall fashion can be installed in a variety of patterns shown below.

The patterns shown above are ideal for tile-look planks sized 12”x24”, and the patterns shown below are ideal for wood-look planks sized 6”x48”.

Installation

Applying Vercade is extremely DIY friendly. There are two adhesive methods to choose from; you can use a roll on adhesive or a double- stick tape method. Check out the two videos below to see which installation method you may prefer and just how easy it is to apply.

We tried it

Our owners Rick and Elisabeth (with the help of their girls) took on the challenge of transforming a boring wall in their basement to make it a statement piece all in itself. They chose the style Aspen, color Hampstead Oak, applied in the single herringbone pattern, and to say we are in love with the results would be an understatement!
