What happens if I do not vacuum regularly?

Most carpets have a protective shield on them to keep dirt at the surface of the carpet and prevent it from working its way down deep into the carpet fibers. Once dirt gets embedded in the carpet it can act as tiny saws, wearing away and breaking down the carpet fibers every time it is walked across. Once the carpet fibers start to deteriorate, the carpet looses its resiliency, causing it to crush and stay matted. By sticking to a frequent vacuuming schedule you can prevent dirt from ever embedding into the carpet, and keep your carpet looking better and lasting longer.

To get the most out of your vacuuming regime, remember these tips:

A quick once-over doesn’t do much. Slow and steady does the trick
When vacuuming, don’t ignore those corners and crevices where dust builds up.
“Top-down” cleaning saves you the step of vacuuming again after dusting. Be sure to dust blinds, windowsills, and furniture surfaces and then vacuum away any fallen dust.
Remember to replace or empty vacuum bags when they are half to two-thirds full as this improves the efficacy of the vacuum.
Vacuuming in multiple directions will remove the most dirt from your carpet. For example, vacuum first from north to south and then again from east to west.
