During the entire month of August we’re partnering with Shaw Floors to donate $0.40/sf from all Shaw residential flooring purchases to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, including the brands Coretec Floors, Anderson Tuftex, and Philadelphia Commercial.
We started the month with a special kick off event that took place at our showroom on August 1st. We hosted a blood drive, had live flooring presentations, grilled out, and enjoyed spending the day with previous customers, builders, designers, friends, family, and even new friends who visited our showroom for the first time to show their support. It was an incredible day!
Our showroom manager’s daughter, Morgan, fought a 7 month journey at St. Jude and has been our motivation for giving back to such an incredible organization. If you’re unfamiliar with Morgan’s story and her time at St. Jude you can catch up on her miraculous battle in our previous blog post.
Blood Drive
During Morgan’s battle against Leukemia she received 48 necessary life-saving blood transfusions. Blood is not a material that can be replicated, it must be the real deal. Blood transfusions are only made possibly by those willing to give the life saving donation of blood. When we first met with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and shared with them our passion behind the blood drive they were all in.
The CBCO is the exclusive provider of blood and blood products to over 40 hospitals in a 40-county area comprising Southwest Missouri, Northwest Arkansas and Southeast Kansas. More than 50,000 donations of blood are required each year to meet the transfusion needs of our friends and neighbors.
When we initially met with the CBCO we set a goal of 20 blood donors. During the course of our kick off event we surpassed that goal with a total of 37 blood donation attempts and 31 successful donations - 93 lives will be impacted because of these selfless donations - THANK YOU DONORS!!
The CBCO was so touched by the heart behind our blood drive that they wanted to get involved further. They pledged to donate $5 per donor to St. Jude. Because of the 37 generous attempts the CBCO donated $185 to St. Jude!!

Shaw floors involvement with St. Jude
Andy Schuttler, our regional Anderson Tuftex representative, joined us for our kick off event and did an excellent job on presenting who AT is and also educating on Shaw’s involvement with St. Jude.
As a longtime partner with St. Jude, Shaw raises awareness and monetary donations to support their life-saving mission: Finding cures. Saving children.
Shaw Floors donates more than $2 million to St. Jude each year - over $17 million since 2012 - these donations are made possible year round through select “give back” products from Shaw.
Since 2012, Shaw Floors has also been a national sponsor and the exclusive flooring provider of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Shaw Floors also champions the Floor Signing Event where all Dream Home sponsors are invited to sign the subfloor with special messages and well wishes before the floors are installed.
We’re so thankful to work with such incredible businesses, like Shaw floors who give back to help end childhood cancer.
